Anamaria is a Romanian Actress. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. She speaks French, German, English as well as Romanian fluently. Her father is a theatre professor at one of Romania's top drama schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors, she was awarded the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008, she was recognized as the 'European Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. This film received a number of distinctions, among them being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress from the British Film Critics. In 2007, she was in the Romanian movie 4 luni 3 weeks si2 (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 3 Weeks, 2 Days), by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). In addition, she appeared on the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. She portrayed Yasim Awar on BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca played the role in The Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegel's highly acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. Later she as the role of Irma's German aunt in Fury, which was released in the year 2014.
