
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest player from the nation at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Morgan was named to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she won the Silver Boot.
